Letter Of Request

Jessie James:

Hi, my name is Jesi, I live in Kansas and I’m in sixth grade. In class this week, we are doing a writing project, we can write it to anyone we want. It is supposed to be a letter requesting something from that person. When my teacher first announced the assignment, I thought of you, because I love all of your songs! Especially Blue Jeans and Psycho Girlfriend! I listen to your CD every single day!
I think you’re a really awesome singer, and since I love you so much I would really appreciate it if you would send me an autographed picture of yourself. I would want the picture to fit in a 8×10 frame. You’re signature should be right in the middle of the picture! I want you to wear whatever you want! Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I hope you consider this request!
Sincerely:
Jesi

Faith, Lori, and Jesi!
Posted on January 22nd, 2010 at 10:44 am by jesiprms15 and

LighteningOne hot summer day Faith, Lori and I all went to the pool together. Then she invited me over. She didn’t invite Lori over because she had a softball game. But after her softball game was over, she invited Lori over, and that’s where everything starts, when we get to her house! We had lots of fun, but also it was kind of really scary at the same time!
When we first got to Faith’s we stayed outside for a while. Then we went inside and had dinner. It was about six o’clock. When we were done we went and put on ridiculous outfits! First we put on her old Halloween costumes and ran around her house. After that she remembered about the princess dresses! Faith was wearing a Cinderella dress with flip-flops and a green wig! It looked so funny! I was wearing a sleeping beauty dress with a hat that kind of looked like a cop hat, with tennis shoes that came up past my heels. Then we decided we wanted to go on a walk, so we went on a walk in the same outfits! It was kind of embarrassing because some old guy was like “Girls, it’s not Halloween yet!” Then some little kid and his dad were chasing us on a golf cart, and telling us it wasn’t Halloween. Faith and I started talking and we kept thinking “Do we really look that dumb? We’re trying to have fun, HELLO PEOPLE!” Then we went back to her house.
When we got back to her house we went downstairs to watch Shrek, I think anyway, but then Faith brought in Moon Sand, and we ended up playing with that instead! It was lots of fun, but there was a little mat thing that you could blow up and I decided I wanted to blow it up; it took me a long time. Meanwhile Faith was just sitting there laughing her head off at me because it wasn’t working and I was getting mad at it! After we were done playing with the moon sand we went upstairs for some reason and when we were going back downstairs I tripped on a stair and fell and grabbed Faith’s leg and pulled her down with me! And that right there is how I got the nickname of Lethal! Except, everyone says I pulled her down (WHICH I DIDN’T!) so that’s more lethal I guess. But after that is about where Lori came over.
When Lori got there we ate, a lot! First we ate a skinny cow ice-cream bar, and then we ate cheddar bunnies, which are like goldfish, except better and healthier. Then we ate more skinny cows. Then we ate more cheddar bunnies. Then her mom came in and made a really weird smoothie that was really healthy for you, my opinion it wasn’t the greatest thing ever, but it was somewhat good, so it was okay. Then Lori decided she was going to stay the night, so we walked to her house to see her dog and to get her clothes. When we were on our way back to Faith’s house it started storming, not really raining very hardly, but thunder and lightening! First off, we thought we were going to make it back to Faith’s house. Well let’s just say that we were wrong on that one! We almost got struck by lightening; it struck about five feet in front of us! It was so scary! Then we screamed and Lori jumped on my back and we started running! As we were running we passed these two teenagers that were probably like seventeen or eighteen, they were so scary! They stared at us, it was scary. So we ran some more. Then Lori screamed and hid behind Faith, because another struck of lightening was very close to us. Then Kim came to the rescue! And that right there is why I love her! 
Then when we got back to her house and we watched some bug movie and when her mom left the room, to go to sleep I think, Lori and I decided we wanted to play in the rain! So we went and put on swimsuits and ran outside, little did we know that it was still lightening and thundering. When we ran outside it looked like the lightening was really close to us, so we freaked out and started screaming and ran back inside.
When we got back inside we were giving each other makeovers. They were horrible, but funny. After that we took the makeup and drew on our stomachs, we first put on foundation, then we drew two eyes right above our belly buttons, and used our belly buttons for a nose. Then for the mouth we took lipstick and drew a mouth! It was fun! After that we went to sleep.
When we woke up my dad called me and told me that he needed to come get me because we had something going on. After that we all laughed about the night before, we wanted it all to happen again because it was so much fun!

Trip to the Ozarks
Posted on January 15th, 2010 at 10:43 am by jesiprms15 and

This summer I went to the Lake of the Ozarks! I went with my cousin, aunt, uncle and grandma! It was so much fun!
We drove all the way down there. It was about a two hour drive. But the bad part was, I had to sit in the middle of the back seat, it was a tight ride. There were three people in the back seat! On the way there we didn’t stop until we were thirty minutes away from where we were staying. We stopped at an ice-cream place. They had the best ice-cream ever! Then, we got back in the car and started heading to the place we were going to stay at! So, as we were on our way, not even ten minutes away and we took the wrong turn! It was horrible, we didn’t notice until on one of the signs it said that the cabins were the other way!
When we finally got there we unpacked the bags and decide who got what rooms, there were only two rooms. We didn’t get there until 5:30. So we just stayed at the cabin for the night. The cabin was beautiful, when you walked in the walls were a really pretty blue and they had amazing paintings on the walls. It was awesome! Then the best part, when you walked out of the front door we were right over the lake, it was really cool to see all the big, expensive boats drive by! When it was about ten we all lay down for bed, Kara got the couch, and I got the floor!
The next day when we woke up Shari made breakfast and Dennis went and started the boat! We went out on the boat for five hours that day! For the first hour or so we just drove around the lake and looked at all the beautiful houses and huge hotels! When we were going under the big green bridge a house boat came flying past us and the waves were bigger than the boat, so we had to even out the sides on the boat and we all got soaked! It was fun, but boring at the same time! Then Kara and I went tubing for about an hour and a half. We tubed for about an hour, and then Kara fell off. Then she decided that she wanted to be done. Then we went and just drove around some more. When we finally got back to the house we swam off of the dock, it was lots of fun! Then about eleven or so, we lay down, and I had to sleep on the floor again!
The third day it was raining so we decided to go to Bridal Cave. It was so cool. Right when we walked in we saw about ten bats! It was awesome! Then after awhile when we were back farther in the cave the paths got narrow and short, so we all had to walk sideways and bending down! Then there was a little slit in between two huge rocks and we looked in it and saw a little river with pointy rocks sticking up out of it! After that when we were on our way out we saw a really old ladder, the first person that discovered it had put it in there! Meanwhile, when we were in about the eighth room there were these two giant balls of yarn that everybody that went in the cave attached something to it. I attached my Hello Kitty hair clip to it! Kara attached an old bracelet, and I don’t know what Shari, Dennis, or Grandma attached. The room after that had a waterfall in it, it was beautiful! That was the last room. We went back to the house and we had dinner and went to bed early.
After that it was the fourth day, it was about 75 degrees and sunny! You couldn’t see a single cloud in the sky! We stayed out on the boat all day long. Kara and I attempted to water ski, but we weren’t very good at it! Well I guess I was pretty good, because I was up on the ski’s skiing and then the ski fell off of my right foot! I was so sad, because then I couldn’t get back up!
The final day we were there we went down a bunch of water slides, because the place we were staying at had a bunch of water slides, but the slides were new when we went so it kept scratching us! We did that for about two hours and then we went down to the pool, the pool felt so great. It was at the bottom of the slides but it was far enough down so if anyone came down the slides they wouldn’t hit us! When we were done with that we went and packed up everything in the room and started our trip home. That’s how my trip to the Ozarks was.

Brian’s Winter
Posted on December 17th, 2009 at 12:17 pm by jesiprms15 and

1. Why was Brian nervous about the coming of winter?
He was nervous because of the cold and because he didn’t have a survival pack like in the summer, spring and fall.

2. If Betty hadn’t come to Brian’s rescue during the bear’s visit, what might have happened?
Brian could’ve died. One, he could’ve got eaten by the bear. Two, he might of just got beat up by the bear. Three, it was very cold and no matter what the bear would’ve won the fight because he didn’t have any weapons. But since Betty came and saved him nothing bad happened.

3. Based on what you know about the outdoors, do the events in this story seem believable? Explain.
Yes, the events seem reasonable because there are bears and skunks in the wilderness but i doubt the skunk wouldn’t spray, and i also dont think it would show up right when you’re about to die.

4. What theme does the relationship between Brian and Betty suggest?
The theme is that friends come in all spape’s, sizes, and colors, even if they smell bad!

5. Write a paragraph that describes what Brian’s actions in the wilderness reveal about his character. Use details from the story to support your answer.
Brian is a very strong and hopeful kid. He is preapared and knows how to live. It also shows that he is greatful and is always hopeing for the best! Brian also is very risky because he trusts a skunk! Also because he lives in the cold wilderness with dangerous animals such as bears and skunks, he also has no family with him so he has to be confident and brave.

Qin Shi Huangdi, The Cruel Emperor

The Cruel Emperor

The Cruel Emperor

Qin Shi Huangdi did so much. He was China’s First Emperor; he was mostly a great emperor. He built the great wall, and he had a book burning year. Do you want to know more about Qin Shi Huangdi? Well, we have his whole life, the most important things you can know about him!

Qin Shi Huangdi was born in 259 BC, his birth town is Qin. Qin is where he got part of his name. His father is King Zhuangxiang of Qin. Qin Shi Huangdi was the eldest child in the family. No one knows how many siblings he had but I think he had three or four because people say between two and five.

Qin Shi Huangdi was a very young ruler when he took over china. Qin Shi Huangdi was only 13 years old when he became the ruler of China. But he wasn’t completely in charge he didn’t get full power until he turned 21. Qin Shi Huangdi became leader of the Qin Empire because he was very powerful and he was well known. No one really knows when he died, lots of people say 210 BC but lots of people also say 206 BC so it’s most likely in between those years.

While Qin Shi Huangdi was in throne he did great things, but also did some, well, let’s just say not so great things. In 220 BC he made people start building the great wall, the great wall didn’t get finished until the Ming dynasty. But Qin Shi started the building, so he is known greatly for that reason. That isn’t the only reason he is known well! Another reason was in 213 BC he decided he didn’t like the Confucian books, so he ordered them all to be burned. That is one of the not so great things that he did!

Do you know how Qin Shi Huang died? Qin Shi Huangdi died in 210 BC. Anyway, Qin Shi Huangdi died when he was only was forty nine. Qin Shi died of natural causes, he wasn’t murdered. After Qin Shi died the Qin dynasty that he created was over ruled by rebel armies, and they changed it to the Han dynasty. The Han rulers thoughts were based on a man named Confucius. That’s pretty much all that happened when he died and right after he died.

So, now you know most of Qin Shi Huangdi’s life, you know about when he was born, when he took the throne, what he accomplished when he was in throne, and how he died. That’s all you could ever want to know about Qin Shi Huangdi!

 Zoo AventureBOO

This is a story of Boo at the Zoo. Haylee, Sandi, Rachel, Ali, Derek, and I went to Boo at the Zoo, but none of us dressed up because we didn’t realize that it was Boo at the Zoo until we got there!  We all had so much fun!

First we started of by going to Asia and saw elephants! It was really cool because right when we walked up to the elephants they were painting! It was kind of weird. But they put a paintbrush in the elephant’s trunk and the girl held up a canvas and the elephants started slapping the brush to the canvas!

Then to Africa, Haylee and I went the opposite way of everyone else and we first saw African hunting dogs! Then we saw a hippo, which is my favorite! But it was sad because they hippos wouldn’t get out of the water, so we just got to see their heads. Beside them there were stone statues and one was a hippo and was a rhino, so we sat on them and took pictures. It was fun!  Right beside the stones there were rhinos! Then we kept on walking and there were supposed to be more animals but since it was cold we didn’t get to see all of them because they were in the exhibit. As we walked there was a huge field, we didn’t think anything was in there but then we saw something running! We walked up to the tables that they had and we looked around and saw lots of awesome animals! First we saw a giraffe, and then we saw two zebras chasing each other! Then we kept walking and we saw tigers! Then we saw cheetahs, and they came right up to the glass that we were standing at! It was so cool! We kept walking and there was a pond, there was a sign on it that said “Beware: Alligators!” we got scared and ran away. We had to get back in town before four, because we were going to Haylee’s grandma’s house and our parents were going to hang out. So we were running, and we saw lots of birds then we kept walking and saw giant tortoises! They were huge! They were the biggest tortoises I had ever seen! There was a book that talked about them and it said one of them was over 200 pounds! It was really cool because I’ve never seen a tortoise that was bigger than 50 pounds!

The zoo was so much fun. I am glad that I got to go!
