Hector Takes a Trip
Posted on May 6th, 2010 at 9:50 am by jesiprms15 and

In Madagascar there are no humans, but lots of lemurs! The lemurs like to have fun so they always throw parties, they usually go great. Everything changed when King Julien was having his fourth year as king party.
King Julien had just started his I like to move it song and dance. They were all singing as loud as they could “I like to move it move, I like to move it move it, you like to….. MOVE IT! Everything was going great until a man had looked through one of the bushes and saw all of the lemurs dancing! The lemurs thought everything was okay because humans aren’t supposed to understand what lemurs say, but this man had lemur hearing! So he heard the singing and saw the dances! Then everybody paused and he was just staring at the lemurs and they were all staring back and then he nervously asked “I like to move it, move it?”
Then all the lemurs screamed and Maurice threw Mort at the man! Mort landed on his face, Mort was scared, “AHHHHHHH! LET ME GO!” said Mort; he sounded as if he was being kidnapped! Then the man got scared and he started screaming! After the man screamed, all of the other lemurs starting screaming! It turned from a thanking party to a screaming party! The man tried to run away but then King Julien had a pack of lemurs to chase him, while they were chasing him they started screaming “Leave this place! It’s ours! It belongs to us, lemurs, NOT HUMANS!” They try to capture him and put him in the dungeon and he would live there for the rest of his life! There was one little problem. The man was five times the size of the lemurs; therefore they couldn’t hold him to carry him where he is supposed to stay. Well the lemurs aren’t very smart, so they put him in the dungeon and tried to push him into the water, well the man went along with it, but when they went through the trees onto the sand, the dungeon broke.
After that they all stared at each other again and Mort got thrown into his face, poor little Mort because the man slapped him off his face and Mort went flying! The man loudly yelled “I don’t enjoy being here. I don’t want to be here! I just don’t know how to get home!” Mort went so far he landed where the sharks go tanning! He landed right on the sharks face, obviously sharks wouldn’t like that.
Then all the sharks started chasing him around the sand and Mort ran all the way back to where the other lemurs were, then the sharks got real “happy” and the sharks started chasing them while yelling “LUNCH!”.
The man thought that he was safe from the sharks, so he decided he wanted to try to pet one of the sharks! But the shark was hungry and it bit off his arm. Then the man screamed “MOMMY!” like a little girl. His scream was louder than a tornado siren, maybe even the loudest thing in the world! The lemurs felt bad for the guy so they started chasing the Sharks with a stick, because the sharks were scared of sticks. “Ha-ha, the stick is going to touch you! It’ll touch you if you don’t drop the arm!” The sharks started screaming and dropped the guys arm and ran back to their tanning place. The lemurs sewed his arm back on using a sharp stick and a very thin piece of long bamboo. Then the guy thanked the lemurs and asked their names. King Julien always taught the lemurs not to talk to strangers, especially humans!
The man made the first move then said “My name is Hector” then King Julien said “I’m the King. Bow down to me!” Hector bowed, so King Julien thought he wasn’t a stranger anymore, so then he said “I’m Julien, the king, you listen to what I say!” “I’m Mort. I’m small.” “Well, I’m Maurice! I am the prettiest lemur in the whole world!” They kept talking until it got dark and “BED TIME EVERYBODY!” King Julien said. All of the lemurs sprung to their beds and fell asleep as fast as you could say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. King Julien made Hector sleep on a bush, Hector didn’t want to back talk, so he just listened.
In the middle of the night Mort had a nightmare and went and crawled into King Julien’s bed to sleep there until morning, well King Julien didn’t wake up like he normally does when Mort gets in his bed. He usually always wakes up first and makes breakfast and lets everyone else sleep in, but this time when he woke up he screamed as loud as he could and fell out of his bed, which was at the top of a tree. So, he fell off while screaming, which means all the lemurs woke up, and King Julien broke his arm. Since King Julien broke his arm he couldn’t make breakfast for everyone. Therefore, all the lemurs got grumpy because they were hungry!
“We want a new king!” All the lemurs said. Only because he couldn’t make breakfast for them! King Julien started crying and was saying “I’m so sorry! It’s not my fault I fell! It’s Mort’s! Blame it on Mort!” Then, poor little Mort; all the lemurs wanted to kick him off of the island and make him find his own island! But then Mort made a point “You guys have always been mean to me. You throw me at everything, I get blamed for everything! I don’t even do anything wrong! If you guys never would have scared me I wouldn’t have had nightmares! So you can’t blame me, not everything is my fault!” Mort said while tearing up.
Then the lemurs forgive him and everything goes back to normal. King Julien somehow manages to make breakfast while everyone is fighting with Mort. Then everybody forgave King Julien. Meanwhile Hector is still asleep; he is obviously a hard sleeper, if he is still sleeping through all the yelling! The lemurs don’t like that so they all jump on him to wake him up, he jumps about five feet in the air and stood up on his feet and his eyes were open, as open as they could be!
Hector ate breakfast and then “I’m going to try to leave,” all the lemurs yelled yes! “We need to make me a boat”, Hector finished saying. Then all the lemurs spread out and they were gathering huge leaves and sticks! They couldn’t think of anything to make anything everything in the boat stay together, so they used their spit. Hector didn’t realize they were using spit until he looked at them and saw them spitting. He was disgusted!
Finally after a few hours of working they got the boat finished and they set Hector off into the ocean. Hector was finally gone! But would the boat stay? They were so worried that the boat was going to collapse and he would drown, they went out to look for him. They didn’t want him to see them, because then he might have a complaint or invite them to join him. Then they spotted him! He was fine! He was paddling along, perfectly fine; he was humming the words to The Wheels on the Bus! Then Mort and Maurice paddled back as fast as they could and told all the other Lemurs the good news! They were all so excited! They were finally free of all humans!
The lemurs have lived unharmed and unvisited since Hector! But now they can always tell other animals that they had a human friend! That is definitely something to brag about because no other wild life animals would even think to talk and help a human! Wish the all the lemurs luck while they move on with their lives!
Persuasive Letter

Dear Mrs. Sigg,
I think that it is imperative that our school has a softball team! I know that a lot of girls at our school play softball and they are very good at it, too. There are Gardner competitive teams and on each team about half the girls go to this school, there is also parks and recreation, which a lot of this schools girls play on, so there could be a varsity and a junior varsity team. This would also give the girls that love softball, but don’t play any other sports a way to support our school! If we get a softball team then a lot more people would be involved with school.
But one thing, if you take this into consideration try to make it so that every two grades have a junior varsity and varsity, like 5th and 6th grade have a junior varsity and a varsity team, then 7th and 8th grade have a junior varsity and varsity. If the teams turn out to be really good then it would get our school more recognized, which is good. It could also get girls prepared for high school if they are planning to play.
I guess that the only fair way to make this happen is to get a baseball team. I know that a lot of boys play baseball and they are also very good at it. It also wouldn’t be fair if only the girls got a new sport, but the boys didn’t, I think that they would be very angry. So, please take this into consideration! A lot of people would enjoy the softball and baseball teams!
Sincerely,
Jesi
Frog and Miles

My dogs have many similarities and differences. Things in common are they are both dogs, obviously. They both can run up to 35 miles per hour, and lucky for me they hardly ever bark! They are both outside dogs; they come inside when it’s really cold. They both eat like cows! My dogs have both been to doggy jail. They both drink a lot, and very fast, and last but not least they both hate getting bathed.
As I said before they have many differences. For instance, Frog is has brown, red, black, and grey hair, and a mutt. Miles is just black and a lab mix. Another big contrast is that Frog lives at my dads’ house and Miles lives at my moms. We got Frog from my dad’s friend’s friend. But we got miles at a pound! Frog has been to doggy jail for being accused of eating a goat, and for “attacking” the neighbor’s child. But that’s a lie because there was no scratch on the little boy. Miles has been to doggy jail because they neighborhood behind us called Animal Control and they took him; twice actually. Other things that are unique about them are that Miles likes cats; on the other hand Frog hates cats! Frog likes to mess around with my chickens and horses, but Miles just stays away from them. Another thing is Miles likes new people, but since Frog is so protective he doesn’t like people until they repeatedly come over. Those are just some ways my dogs are alike and opposite!
Barney and Friends!
Posted on February 19th, 2010 at 10:47 am by jesiprms15 and

Have you watched Barney and Friends on television? Well, i wrote about him. Barney was originally created by Sheryl Leach, she was first a teacher. Then she decided she was going to try to make a big hit television show. Little did she know that it would be a favorite to many children all around the world! She was originally going to make Barney a bear, but then her son had told her that he had an interest in dinosaurs, so she made Barney a dinosaur. She came up with the color purple so that Barney could be unique, and stick out from other television shows.
Barney was played by David Joyner but the voice was by Bob West. David Joyner was born on July 4th, 1963. He graduated in 1983 with an associate’s degree in electronic engineering technology. He was hired in 1990 for the role of Barney. Bob West was born in June 25th, 1956. He got hired for the voice of Barney in 1990. They were the two main characters, obviously.
Barney and Friends was created to teach children to be respectful to other people and to teach them life lessons. Some of the lessons were manors, respectfulness, and to be a good person. Barney was good for two reasons. One: entertaining kids and two: it taught them good things and they didn’t realize it!
The Barney theme song is:
Barney is a dinosaur from our imagination
And when he’s tall
He’s what we call a dinosaur sensation
Barney’s friends are big and small
They come from lots of places
After school they meet to play
And sing with happy faces
Barney shows us lots of things
Like how to play pretend
ABC’s, and 123′s
And how to be a friend
Barney comes to play with us
Whenever we may need him
Barney can be your friend too
If you just make-believe him!
The first Barney and Friends was live on TV on April 6th, 1992. It was “Queen of Make-Believe”. The second episode was on April 7th, 1992. It was “My Family’s Just Right for me”. Then so on, new ones played everyday. The very last Barney and Friends aired on September 18th 2009. It was the thirteenth season, episode 10! Over all the years there were 235 episodes and nine movies.
Barney was recently cancelled because a lot of kids got bored of the show very quickly. So they cancelled the show because less and less viewers were watching every show. It mainly was just wasting the TV channels that it was playing on. Barney was very cool and unique, it’s so sad it had to end so abruptly.

Faith, Lori, and Jesi!
Posted on January 22nd, 2010 at 10:44 am by jesiprms15 and
One hot summer day Faith, Lori and I all went to the pool together. Then she invited me over. She didn’t invite Lori over because she had a softball game. But after her softball game was over, she invited Lori over, and that’s where everything starts, when we get to her house! We had lots of fun, but also it was kind of really scary at the same time!
When we first got to Faith’s we stayed outside for a while. Then we went inside and had dinner. It was about six o’clock. When we were done we went and put on ridiculous outfits! First we put on her old Halloween costumes and ran around her house. After that she remembered about the princess dresses! Faith was wearing a Cinderella dress with flip-flops and a green wig! It looked so funny! I was wearing a sleeping beauty dress with a hat that kind of looked like a cop hat, with tennis shoes that came up past my heels. Then we decided we wanted to go on a walk, so we went on a walk in the same outfits! It was kind of embarrassing because some old guy was like “Girls, it’s not Halloween yet!” Then some little kid and his dad were chasing us on a golf cart, and telling us it wasn’t Halloween. Faith and I started talking and we kept thinking “Do we really look that dumb? We’re trying to have fun, HELLO PEOPLE!” Then we went back to her house.
When we got back to her house we went downstairs to watch Shrek, I think anyway, but then Faith brought in Moon Sand, and we ended up playing with that instead! It was lots of fun, but there was a little mat thing that you could blow up and I decided I wanted to blow it up; it took me a long time. Meanwhile Faith was just sitting there laughing her head off at me because it wasn’t working and I was getting mad at it! After we were done playing with the moon sand we went upstairs for some reason and when we were going back downstairs I tripped on a stair and fell and grabbed Faith’s leg and pulled her down with me! And that right there is how I got the nickname of Lethal! Except, everyone says I pulled her down (WHICH I DIDN’T!) so that’s more lethal I guess. But after that is about where Lori came over.
When Lori got there we ate, a lot! First we ate a skinny cow ice-cream bar, and then we ate cheddar bunnies, which are like goldfish, except better and healthier. Then we ate more skinny cows. Then we ate more cheddar bunnies. Then her mom came in and made a really weird smoothie that was really healthy for you, my opinion it wasn’t the greatest thing ever, but it was somewhat good, so it was okay. Then Lori decided she was going to stay the night, so we walked to her house to see her dog and to get her clothes. When we were on our way back to Faith’s house it started storming, not really raining very hardly, but thunder and lightening! First off, we thought we were going to make it back to Faith’s house. Well let’s just say that we were wrong on that one! We almost got struck by lightening; it struck about five feet in front of us! It was so scary! Then we screamed and Lori jumped on my back and we started running! As we were running we passed these two teenagers that were probably like seventeen or eighteen, they were so scary! They stared at us, it was scary. So we ran some more. Then Lori screamed and hid behind Faith, because another struck of lightening was very close to us. Then Kim came to the rescue! And that right there is why I love her!
Then when we got back to her house and we watched some bug movie and when her mom left the room, to go to sleep I think, Lori and I decided we wanted to play in the rain! So we went and put on swimsuits and ran outside, little did we know that it was still lightening and thundering. When we ran outside it looked like the lightening was really close to us, so we freaked out and started screaming and ran back inside.
When we got back inside we were giving each other makeovers. They were horrible, but funny. After that we took the makeup and drew on our stomachs, we first put on foundation, then we drew two eyes right above our belly buttons, and used our belly buttons for a nose. Then for the mouth we took lipstick and drew a mouth! It was fun! After that we went to sleep.
When we woke up my dad called me and told me that he needed to come get me because we had something going on. After that we all laughed about the night before, we wanted it all to happen again because it was so much fun!
Trip to the Ozarks
Posted on January 15th, 2010 at 10:43 am by jesiprms15 and
This summer I went to the Lake of the Ozarks! I went with my cousin, aunt, uncle and grandma! It was so much fun!
We drove all the way down there. It was about a two hour drive. But the bad part was, I had to sit in the middle of the back seat, it was a tight ride. There were three people in the back seat! On the way there we didn’t stop until we were thirty minutes away from where we were staying. We stopped at an ice-cream place. They had the best ice-cream ever! Then, we got back in the car and started heading to the place we were going to stay at! So, as we were on our way, not even ten minutes away and we took the wrong turn! It was horrible, we didn’t notice until on one of the signs it said that the cabins were the other way!
When we finally got there we unpacked the bags and decide who got what rooms, there were only two rooms. We didn’t get there until 5:30. So we just stayed at the cabin for the night. The cabin was beautiful, when you walked in the walls were a really pretty blue and they had amazing paintings on the walls. It was awesome! Then the best part, when you walked out of the front door we were right over the lake, it was really cool to see all the big, expensive boats drive by! When it was about ten we all lay down for bed, Kara got the couch, and I got the floor!
The next day when we woke up Shari made breakfast and Dennis went and started the boat! We went out on the boat for five hours that day! For the first hour or so we just drove around the lake and looked at all the beautiful houses and huge hotels! When we were going under the big green bridge a house boat came flying past us and the waves were bigger than the boat, so we had to even out the sides on the boat and we all got soaked! It was fun, but boring at the same time! Then Kara and I went tubing for about an hour and a half. We tubed for about an hour, and then Kara fell off. Then she decided that she wanted to be done. Then we went and just drove around some more. When we finally got back to the house we swam off of the dock, it was lots of fun! Then about eleven or so, we lay down, and I had to sleep on the floor again!
The third day it was raining so we decided to go to Bridal Cave. It was so cool. Right when we walked in we saw about ten bats! It was awesome! Then after awhile when we were back farther in the cave the paths got narrow and short, so we all had to walk sideways and bending down! Then there was a little slit in between two huge rocks and we looked in it and saw a little river with pointy rocks sticking up out of it! After that when we were on our way out we saw a really old ladder, the first person that discovered it had put it in there! Meanwhile, when we were in about the eighth room there were these two giant balls of yarn that everybody that went in the cave attached something to it. I attached my Hello Kitty hair clip to it! Kara attached an old bracelet, and I don’t know what Shari, Dennis, or Grandma attached. The room after that had a waterfall in it, it was beautiful! That was the last room. We went back to the house and we had dinner and went to bed early.
After that it was the fourth day, it was about 75 degrees and sunny! You couldn’t see a single cloud in the sky! We stayed out on the boat all day long. Kara and I attempted to water ski, but we weren’t very good at it! Well I guess I was pretty good, because I was up on the ski’s skiing and then the ski fell off of my right foot! I was so sad, because then I couldn’t get back up!
The final day we were there we went down a bunch of water slides, because the place we were staying at had a bunch of water slides, but the slides were new when we went so it kept scratching us! We did that for about two hours and then we went down to the pool, the pool felt so great. It was at the bottom of the slides but it was far enough down so if anyone came down the slides they wouldn’t hit us! When we were done with that we went and packed up everything in the room and started our trip home. That’s how my trip to the Ozarks was.
Brian’s Winter
Posted on December 17th, 2009 at 12:17 pm by jesiprms15 and
1. Why was Brian nervous about the coming of winter?
He was nervous because of the cold and because he didn’t have a survival pack like in the summer, spring and fall.
2. If Betty hadn’t come to Brian’s rescue during the bear’s visit, what might have happened?
Brian could’ve died. One, he could’ve got eaten by the bear. Two, he might of just got beat up by the bear. Three, it was very cold and no matter what the bear would’ve won the fight because he didn’t have any weapons. But since Betty came and saved him nothing bad happened.
3. Based on what you know about the outdoors, do the events in this story seem believable? Explain.
Yes, the events seem reasonable because there are bears and skunks in the wilderness but i doubt the skunk wouldn’t spray, and i also dont think it would show up right when you’re about to die.
4. What theme does the relationship between Brian and Betty suggest?
The theme is that friends come in all spape’s, sizes, and colors, even if they smell bad!
5. Write a paragraph that describes what Brian’s actions in the wilderness reveal about his character. Use details from the story to support your answer.
Brian is a very strong and hopeful kid. He is preapared and knows how to live. It also shows that he is greatful and is always hopeing for the best! Brian also is very risky because he trusts a skunk! Also because he lives in the cold wilderness with dangerous animals such as bears and skunks, he also has no family with him so he has to be confident and brave.
Qin Shi Huangdi, The Cruel Emperor
Posted on December 10th, 2009 at 12:51 pm by jesiprms15 and
 The Cruel Emperor
Qin Shi Huangdi did so much. He was China’s First Emperor; he was mostly a great emperor. He built the great wall, and he had a book burning year. Do you want to know more about Qin Shi Huangdi? Well, we have his whole life, the most important things you can know about him!
Qin Shi Huangdi was born in 259 BC, his birth town is Qin. Qin is where he got part of his name. His father is King Zhuangxiang of Qin. Qin Shi Huangdi was the eldest child in the family. No one knows how many siblings he had but I think he had three or four because people say between two and five.
Qin Shi Huangdi was a very young ruler when he took over china. Qin Shi Huangdi was only 13 years old when he became the ruler of China. But he wasn’t completely in charge he didn’t get full power until he turned 21. Qin Shi Huangdi became leader of the Qin Empire because he was very powerful and he was well known. No one really knows when he died, lots of people say 210 BC but lots of people also say 206 BC so it’s most likely in between those years.
While Qin Shi Huangdi was in throne he did great things, but also did some, well, let’s just say not so great things. In 220 BC he made people start building the great wall, the great wall didn’t get finished until the Ming dynasty. But Qin Shi started the building, so he is known greatly for that reason. That isn’t the only reason he is known well! Another reason was in 213 BC he decided he didn’t like the Confucian books, so he ordered them all to be burned. That is one of the not so great things that he did!
Do you know how Qin Shi Huang died? Qin Shi Huangdi died in 210 BC. Anyway, Qin Shi Huangdi died when he was only was forty nine. Qin Shi died of natural causes, he wasn’t murdered. After Qin Shi died the Qin dynasty that he created was over ruled by rebel armies, and they changed it to the Han dynasty. The Han rulers thoughts were based on a man named Confucius. That’s pretty much all that happened when he died and right after he died.
So, now you know most of Qin Shi Huangdi’s life, you know about when he was born, when he took the throne, what he accomplished when he was in throne, and how he died. That’s all you could ever want to know about Qin Shi Huangdi!
